Two fully-funded PhD studentships are available in Artificial Intelligence.

The research areas of interest include (but are not limited to) planning, knowledge representation & reasoning, natural language processing, explanation, autonomous control and learning (stochastic, deep or symbolic). We expressly encourage applicants interested in applications that cut across some of these technical areas and wish to develop AI techniques in the context of interdisciplinary research for domains, such as healthcare, productivity, sustainability, transportation, and commerce.

The studentships are available from January 2019. They are for three years and include a stipend of circa 16,777GBP per year plus a Home/EU fee waiver. The supervision teams for the studentships will be interdisciplinary but the lead supervisor will be from the Department of Computer Science.
