Dr Nguyen's own research focuses on how emerging technologies can be leveraged to improve the rail industry, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in crowded environments. His aspiration is to significantly enhance the rail operators' operational efficiency to benefit the passengers' experience across the UK's rail network.

During the week, Dr Nguyen also attended the Parliamentary Reception and the launch of 'Manifesto for Science' in the Palace of Westminster, hosted by Michelle Donelan MP. Dr Nguyen was also chosen as part of the 7 panelists on a Select Committee tasked with questioning two Members of Parliament (Conservative and SNP) regarding the critical attributes of the UK's science ecosystem.
