During this period, several projects for the Department, for the University and for third-party clients have been successfully delivered.

Code Groovers has also facilitated or supported a number of other activities, from hackathons to collaborations with industrial partners.

Prof. José Fiadeiro, Head of the Department of Computer Science, said:

“Code Groovers is one of the extra-curricular initiatives that the Department has launched to give our students the opportunity to acquire important skills and explore who they are and what they can achieve. I am very proud of what Code Groovers has achieved in its first year, which is a tribute to the talent of our students and the professionalism of our staff, especially Georgios, the CEO.”

Dr Georgios Koutsoukos, Senior Lecturer and CEO of Code Groovers, said:

“The goal of Code Groovers is to unleash the capacity of younger computer scientists to create high-quality, innovative software, and to offer excellent value for money solutions to our clients. We believe in a future generation of software engineers and technologists with amplified levels of dynamism, confidence, judgment, entrepreneurial spirit, solid knowledge and collaboration capacity, as the major driving force for the evolution of the world’s technology ecosystem.

Celebrating our first year of successful operations has been an important milestone that we are all very proud of. I would like to thank our Students, Clients, Board of Directors, Members of Staff and the College stakeholders for embracing this initiative and making it a reality. We are looking forward to the new challenges and exciting opportunities ahead.”
