Marco Cabrera Salcedo - Language Tutor in Spanish

I am a Language Tutor in Spanish in the Department of Languages, Literature and Cultures.

I am a graduate in English from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and I also hold a MEd in Education and Second Language Teaching from the University of Alcalá. At Royal Holloway I teach and convene the First-Year ab-initio Spanish and the Spanish Advanced Written I courses which include a variety of writing, grammar, rhetoric, and oral lessons.

Previously, I taught English and Spanish in the UK and abroad at a wide range of levels, from beginners to advanced, with groups of mixed abilities and set groups. My most recent experience was at secondary level teaching GCSE and A-level Spanish. This allows me to have a clear picture of the academic background first-year students have and ensure a smooth transition into university language learning.

My academic interests also extend to literature, specifically the literary production by US latino/a authors in the 20th and 21st centuries, and their perspective on transnationalism, immigrant hospitality and linguistic identity
