  • Date13 October 2020

The Department was saddened to hear that Professor David Quentin (DQ) Bowen passed away on October 5th 2020.

DQ was our Head of Department at Royal Holloway from 1985 to 1989. He was a key figure in the field of Quaternary Science, including through his establishment of the journal Quaternary Science Reviews. That intellectual legacy lives on at Royal Holloway in our Centre for Quaternary Research. Our sympathies are extended to Professor Bowen’s family at this time.
