Professor Judith Hawley Edits New Edition of Tristram Shandy

  • Date17 December 2018

Judith Hawley has edited, prefaced and selected supplementary materials for a new Norton Criticals edition of Laurence Stern's Tristram Shandy.

Tristam Shandy

This is a fresh look at what many see as the most important novel of the C18th: innovative, experimental, and at times hilarious, it is held up as the precursor to post-modernism. Professor Hawley's edition is already lauded as a valuable edition to Sterne scholars:

“Packed with carefully curated supplementary goodies, Hawley’s edition will allow students and scholars alike to appreciate the breadth and depth of Sterne’s wit, creativity, and pathos.” —Evan Gottlieb, Oregon State University
