Open Days

Come to an Open Day or an Applicant Visit Day!

The best way for you to decide if Royal Holloway is the university from which you want to graduate in Computer Science is to visit us.

We run two kinds of events:

  • Open Days, which are typically held in June and September/October. Their purpose is to expose you to Computer Science as a subject, the knowledge and skills that you can acquire by studying Computer Science at university, and the way we teach and you learn Computer Science at Royal Holloway.
  • Applicant Visit Days, which are organised between December and March. These are for offer holders and their purpose is to give you the opportunity to learn in more detail what we teach in our degree programmes, how you learn, and what opportunities you have to develop yourself as an individual.

In both cases, a day with us will consist of a Welcome talk by the Head of Department as well as demos and activities that allow you to experience our approach to delivering a degree programme in Computer Science. There will be students with whom you can talk to as well as academic staff including one of our admissions tutors. The talks and programme of activities for AVDs are different from those of Open Days so our recommendation is that you attend both.

The 2019 Open Days will be on 14 and 15 June; 28 September and 19 October: you can register here.
