Arrivals and works impacting local roads

  • Date13 September 2021

Arrivals for the start of the new academic year commence from Wednesday 15 to Sunday 19 September 2021, inclusive.

George Eliot Halls external

Access to car park 14 – the car park just off the A30 – will only be accessible from South Road to Highfield Road between 8am and 6pm from 15 to 19 September. This is so that we have a one-way system in place from South Road to Highfield Road to Harvest Road for arrivals traffic.

In addition, between 23 August and 23 November 2021, work is being completed to repoint the boundary wall around the university’s George Eliot Hall on the A30 and Harvest Road

During this time, there will be a reduction to the speed of traffic on the A30 from 40mph to 30mph. There will be a number of pavement closures and diversions around specific areas to keep pedestrians safe and away from construction works as they move around the boundary wall.
