Royal Holloway is a popular destination for Colombian students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The most popular course choices for Colombian students are Petroleum Geoscience, International Management, Information Security and Film and Television Studies.

The qualifications we accept

Applicants to Royal Holloway come from a diverse range of backgrounds and we accept a broad range of qualifications to our courses. Each applicant is considered carefully on their individual merits, but please see below for the standard minimum entry requirements for students from Colombia.

Bachiller Academico/Bachiller Technico  

If you have completed a Bachiller Academico or Bachiller Technico in Colombia you will need to take our one year International Foundation Year or International Year One programme, or the equivalent from another institution, before beginning undergraduate studies.

A levels & International Baccalaureate (IB)

If you have taken A levels or the IB you will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate programmes. Specific grade requirements can be found in the course finder entry for your chosen course.

University preparation programmes

The Royal Holloway International Study Centre provides an International Foundation Year and International Year One programme, which are designed for international students who do not quite meet the requirements for an undergraduate course. These programmes will help to develop your academic and English language skills in preparation for university. Upon successful completion, you can progress to degree level study at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Master’s Degree

Completion of a Bachelor degree in an appropriate subject with good grades/GPA at a reputable university,qualifies you for consideration for entry to a Masters degree programme. Exact requirements vary by programme, but most departments will ask for a GPA of 3.5 - 4.0 on a 5.0 scale.

Research Degree (MPhil/PhD)

If you have successfully completed a Masters degree in an appropriate subject with good grades/GPA and at a reputable university, you will be considered for entry to a Royal Holloway MPhil/PhD programme. Exact requirements vary by programme, but most departments will ask for a GPA of 3.5 - 4.0 on a 5.0 scale.

Applications for undergraduate places are made online via UCAS. Students applying for a University preparation course or a postgraduate course apply to Royal Holloway directly.

There is a very strong Latin American student community at Royal Holloway and a range of clubs and societies for students to join, both on campus and in the local area. The Ballroom and Latin Dancesport Society and the Spanish Society are particularly popular with Latin American students. Royal Holloway is one of the University of London’s best sporting Colleges and RHULSPORT offer 59 student sports clubs and high quality on- and off-campus facilities.  

Royal Holloway holds a Welcome Event for students from Latin America during the Autumn term and this offers the opportunity to connect with other students from a similar background.

Community Action Volunteering exists to connect, train and support Royal Holloway students seeking to volunteer in the local community.
