The materials discovery laboratory at Royal Holloway is a facility for the synthesis of novel materials, structure determination, and physical property measurement. In-house research focusses on materials for energy applications and quantum technologies. We also conduct research in collaboration with Large Facilities including the ISIS Facility in the UK, the Institute Laue-Langevin in France, the Diamond Light Source in the UK, the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in France, FRM II in Germany and the Spallation Neutron Source in the United States, as well as the wider research community.
