Mark McCallum has been successful in getting a SEPnet placement at Photek.
Mark will be working on the development of an automated multichannel photon detector tes bed.
Photek are a manufacturer of light-sensitive vacuum tubes for scientific and defence markets. We have been operating since 1991 and have around 60 employees. Our production is high value / low volume and our detectors are used in diverse applications such as high energy physics (e.g. CERN), nuclear fusion research, missile detection systems, biological research and photo-dissociation chemistry. The detectors are considered state-of-the-art for low noise light amplification, single photon detection and time accuracy.
The project will be with Photek’s R&D department who design and develop new products and processes within the company. The R&D team is a group with skills in physics, electronics, surface/material science and the roles required strong problem-solving skills as all projects have no proven solution at the beginning.
