Prof. Ravinder Barn hosts a Webinar on the Needs for Children and Young People from Vulnerable Groups.

Children and young people who grow up in state care are one of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in society. On 20 January 2021 at 4 pm, this webinar will bring together three scholars to help explore issues and concerns of key relevance including early intervention, the importance of addressing ‘complex needs’, and suicide ideation.

  • "Children’s social care and early intervention policy: evidence from Sure Start"  Prof Dan Anderberg (Economics - RHUL);
  • “Caring for all: a comparative study of foster care for adolescents with ‘complex needs’” Churchill Fellowship Report, Laurelle Brown (Laurelle Brown Training and Consultancy);
  • "Influencing factors of suicidal ideation among care-experienced adults" Petra Göbbels-Koch (Social Work - RHUL).

This event is chaired by Prof. Ravinder Barn (Department of Law and Criminology - RHUL) and it is organised by the Families and Children Cluster.
