Are facilities currently open?
Following government guidelines, our outdoor facilities have been open from Monday 29 March for club bookings and ad hoc student bookings. The gym is also now open as part of stage two of the government's roadmap, however students and staff members of Royal Holloway will have priority access to the facilities and no new community memberships will be available until further notice.
Will I be able to go to the gym and group exercise classes?
Following the new government guidelines from Monday 12 April the gym has reopened, however indoor group activity will not be allowed until Monday 17 May (at the earliest).

What will happen to my fitness membership?
We’ve got you covered! Your membership was automatically frozen for the duration of our closure period and will have been unfrozen when our facilities reopened and services resumed. You won’t need to do a thing!

How can I stay active throughout lockdown?
We know that you may not be returning to campus for a while yet and this may prevent you from using our facilities. We want to ensure that you're able to workout from home, wherever you are in the world!

I am worried about my mental wellbeing through a second lockdown - where can I find support?
If you are feeling overwhelmed, we have support services from our Student Advisory and Wellbeing team where you can discuss any concerns, issues or worries you have whether it is about you or a friend. Please contact us via email if you would like to chat with an Advisor who will be able to listen to your worries and help you in getting the right support for you. If you are really struggling with your wellbeing and don’t feel you can keep yourself safe please contact 999 and speak to an operator who will be able to get you immediate support.
Furthermore, it is proven that our mental health and wellbeing are assisted and improved by exercise and diet. We would always encourage you to try and get in some form of exercise in order to improve your mood and wellbeing.
How can I book a tennis court or outdoor facility?
Ad hoc bookings are available, you can request a booking by completing the form found here. One of the team will contact you within 24 hours to complete the booking. If you are trying to book for today please call the Sports Centre on 01784 443892 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be aware we are only open limited hours and have limited resource on site.
