In addition to our fairs, we offer a wide range of opportunities to engage with our students on campus.
Meet the Employer drop-in
Employers and alumni have the opportunity to spend a few hours in our Careers Centre, meeting students informally 1:1 or in small groups. Students book 15 minute appointments or just drop in to talk to employers about the roles on offer, the application process, how to stand out or which skills are particularly in demand. This event is very informal and does not require a presentation or slides. This opportunity is good for all employers and sometimes we schedule them to coincide with our sector-themed weeks.
Themed Careers Talks
Employers may wish to give a presentation to students about their graduate schemes or internships, or talk them through the application process. This works well for the larger, well-known employers.
Some employers prefer to deliver skills sessions focussing on particular areas of weakness that have been identified in our students’ applications, for example. This type of workshop is good for both well-known and lesser-known employers as the focus is very much on the skill being acquired.
Sector-themed panel events
We regularly hold sector-themed panels, inviting recent alumni and other representatives to share insights and advice on working in the sector and the routes in.
From time to time we run online campaigns and often ask employers and alumni to contribute content to these, such as short videos, job profiles or top tips for success.
