The majority of accommodation at Royal Holloway is on campus (with two halls located about a mile away connected by a free shuttle bus to and from campus).
Your son or daughter can choose between self-catered or catered-pay-as-you-go halls, which offer 50 per cent off food and drink purchased in dining halls.
More information about the Campus Account, Royal Holloway’s on campus payment system, which works much like a debit card, is available on our enrolment pages. Students may apply for accommodation online and should make sure they apply by the deadline to be considered for a place in halls. Please visit the Student Accommodation web page for more information and a list of the halls of residence.
We have a dedicated team of residential support assistants whose job is to look after the welfare of all students in halls. They are current students who live in Halls to help their peers settle into their new environment and understand the rules and regulations to ensure everyone works together for a happy Hall community. Security Services are also available 24 hours a day and can be contacted in an emergency at any time.
Private sector housing
Student Accommodation supports students in finding private sector accommodation. Students need to move off campus after their first year unless they have specific needs and qualify to stay on campus. Most students move into shared private accommodation in Egham or Englefield Green.
Private housing lists are displayed on HouseSearch, which is an online directory of housing and lodgings available to students. The service is available free of charge to students and has a number of features allowing them to search available properties and shortlist them for viewing.
