Web Pages - How does Pure interact with Contensis?

Question:
Web Pages - How does Pure interact with Contensis?
Answer:

Pure and Contensis are both used to provide parts of the College's website. You can tell whether a page is coming from pure if the URL begins 'pure.rhul.ac.uk' rather than 'www.rhul.ac.uk'. Web pages coming from Pure use the same templates as Contensis pages and otherwise look almost identical.

Currently Pure integrates it's own web pages with the Contensis pages by 'subscribing' to different menus within the Contensis part of the website. This allows Pure to display, for example, the appropriate departmental menu and other navigation tools when viewing an individual researcher's Pure page. In this sense Pure 'knows about' Contensis, but Contensis does not 'know about' Pure, although of course it is possible to link to Pure pages from Contensis pages using URLs.
