Students and staff celebrated at annual Laurels awards

Laurels

The Student Union at Royal Holloway, University of London held its annual Laurels ceremony, where RHUL student and staff are recognized for their contributions and achievements over the academic year.

The Laurels recognise those in our College community who contribute in an outstanding manner in service to a committee and by helping in the running of the Students’ Union at large. The award recipients are nominated by students. Two students from Psychology were nominated this year: Callum Chaplin and Sidonie Bertrand-Shelton, who also received an award.

The Laurels event not only sees the presentation of student awards but also the Apple for the Teacher awards in which students are given the chance to commend and thank academic and administrative staff. Two members of staff from Psychology were nominated and received awards: Dr Carolyn McGettigan and Dr Szonya Durant (they would like to say a big thanks for the nominations!).

A great night was had by all. Congratulations!
