Dr Simone Fox from The Department of Psychology Royal Holloway, University of London, has received the Whatever It Takes Award from MST (multisystemic therapy) Services for her dedication to her work with at-risk youth and families. Shereceived her award from Dr Scott Henggeler, the developer of multisystemic therapy, during MST Services’ recent European Conference in Oslo.
She told the British Psychological Society website: “I was surprised and flattered to receive this award. I think that MST is an invaluable intervention and can see the huge changes that it is making to many families who have struggled to achieve results with the more traditional services. The team that I supervise has worked extremely hard to engage and work with young people and their families with very complex problems. The award is a recognition of the results and combined effort that has been put in by my colleagues, key stakeholders and the families that we work with.
The Whatever It Takes Award is given by MST Services on an annual basis to an individual who has demonstrated creative, out-of-the-box thinking, persistence and dedication to do "whatever it takes" to accomplish positive outcomes for youth and their families undergoing MST. Award selection is based on feedback from the families about their experience with MST and is presented to individuals and organizations that rank in the top one percent among their peers in 12 different countries.
“Dr Fox has been instrumental in advancing MST within her community,” said Dr Henggeler. “Her commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of at-risk youth is worthy of recognition and we were honored to present her with this award.”
