23 -24 September – Fresher’s Fair in the Students Union Main Hall, 10 am – 4pm. Come and sign up for PIRSoc (bring £7 and your NUS card)
29 September (Wednesday)- First PIRSoc Meeting in the Main Lecture Theater, Founders, 7pm. We will give a presentation about the Politics Week, other events and explain in detail about the Model UN Conference and how to apply for it.
4th – 9th October – POLITICS WEEK 2010!
4th October (Monday) – Middle East Film Night, FW101 (PIR Department) 6pm. A cinematic forum event with Dr. Mike Williams who will give a short talk after we’ve scoffed pizza and watched ‘Taxi to the Dark Side’.

5th October (Tuesday) – I. Book Shop Day, from 12pm in PIR Department. Come and buy/sell your books to current PIR students (more details will be provided soon)
II. Asia Day, FW101, 6pm – a talk event on Kashmir insurgency with Dr Antara Datta.
6th October (Wednesday) – Africa Day – Monroe Fox Lecture Theater, 6pm. A guest lecture event with a speaker from the Africa Research Institute who will give a talk about Mediation and Military Intervention in the African Union.
7th October (Thursday ) – Careers Day, Main Lecture Theater (MLT), Founders, 7pm. Come and meet Royal Holloway careers advisers as well as PIR alumni who will talk about career paths and share their experience.
8th October (Friday) –BRAIN BATTLE (Europe and N. America Quiz Night) Arts Building Ground Floor Room 24 (AG24) 6pm. The ultimate quiz, Lecturers vs Students. Nachos and drinks will be provided!!! More information about the teams will be provided soon.
9th October (Saturday) – PIRSoc Birthday Celebration!!! Come and help us celebrate the PIRSoc’s sixth Birthday inMonkey’s Forehead with drinks and cake, from 7pm.
12 November (Friday) – Trip to UK Parliament. Space is limited, booking in advance will be required (more information will be posted soon)
