Our Wagner specialist Dr Mark Berry was on BBC Radio 3 recently, sharing his views on the opera, Das Rheingold, alongside Royal Opera House director Kasper Holten, ROH music director Antonio Pappano, historian Sarah Lenton and fellow Wagner expert John Deathridge.

Tune in for the entire podcast here.

Mark was speaking in the first of a series of four radio broadcasts on the Ring cycle. Over the next three weeks, he will discuss the remaining operas in the tetralogy: SiegfriedDie Walküre and Götterdämmerung.

Mark has also been invited to take part in an edition of Night Waves on Wagner and myth next week, which will be broadcast live during the second interval of Götterdämmerung.
