Brian Lock to judge British Composer Awards

Brian Lock, Senior Lecturer in Music, has been appointed a judge at this year’s British Composer Awards. Brian will be involved especially in compositions in the ‘Sonic Arts’ category, covering electronica, experimental and electro-acoustic music. Two of Brian’s own works in this field are about to have their world premiers –  Music for Clarinet, Sequencer and Percussion in Memphis, in October, and next year at King’s Place in London and his Concerto for iPad during 2012 at international electronic music festivals in Los Angeles and Sydney. He is currently also working on media music for Universal Music and his music has recently been heard on the BBC’s The Medici: Makers of Modern Art, The Art of Spain and Private Life of a Masterpiece
