Islam, Law and Identity

A chapter by Dr Gül Berna Özcan entitled 'Entrepreneurs and morals' was recently published in a new book edited by two colleagues from the Department of Law at Birkbeck, University of London. The book, Islam, Law and Identity, edited by Marinos Diamantides and Adam Gearey was published by Routledge in August.

Publisher's description

The essays brought together in this book are the product of a series of interdisciplinary workshops funded by the British Academy in London, Cairo and Izmir. The papers focus on recent debates about the nature of sacred and secular law and most engage case studies from specific countries including Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Pakistan and the UK.
