Studied: MSc Entrepreneurship
After finishing my bachelors in Industrial engineering and management and having worked in various countries in Asia, I decided it was time to focus on my passion for start-ups. As I did not have a plan at the time, I decided to do an MSc. in Entrepreneurship at Royal Holloway.
During the MSc. we were constantly stimulated to think critically, opening an eye for opportunity. This was done by learning about the different types of entrepreneurs, case studies and guest lectures. Through the guest lectures, I was introduced to the concept of sweat equity, taking part in a start-up in return for an equity share.
After meeting many entrepreneurs and start-ups, I met an established entrepreneur who was starting a new venture, The Inner Circle. After lots of brainstorming and negotiation we started the company. I also got involved in another company with a friend I met at Royal Holloway. We started a company in Luxury Holidays & Villa Rental in Cascais Portugal called CascaisVilla.net.
The course widened my horizon in the field of Entrepreneurship. It helped me open an eye towards opportunities, understand the types of entrepreneurship and showed me the different aspects involved. The guest lectures are very inspiring and provide a door to London’s start-up scene. At Royal Holloway I met many nice people and with some I’m working on new projects.
