Studied: MSc International Human Resource Management (IHRM)
The most valuable part of the IHRM course was learning how different cultures can impact an organisation. I think it’s a crucial element to remember when managing people in multinational enterprises. Furthermore, how to manage organisational change and the specifics of employment law were also valuable aspects of the degree as they deal with everyday issues within human resources.
Since my IHRM Masters at Royal Holloway I went on to do a second masters in Financial Management at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (a business school in Belgium). Many recruiters like the combination of human resources and finance as finance is an aspect of business that comes across in all departments within a company. My next step is finding a job within the human resources department of an international company. Hopefully the knowledge I gained on how to manage different cultures and the ins and outs of how an organisation works will benefit me in my future career.
