Senate House Library, the central University of London Library, is an important resource for additional e-journals, online databases and research materials, especially for the Arts and Humanities, and Psychology.

Royal Holloway students and staff can become a member of Senate House Library free of charge. Apply for a library card by visiting Senate House Library, taking along your Royal Holloway RSC (College) card (showing a valid expiry date). Or register online to use Senate House Library e-resources.

We have written two guides on how to gain access to Senate House's e-resources:

Senate House Library returns drop box on Royal Holloway campus

There is a drop box on campus at the University of London Depository (Building 39 on the campus map), where Royal Holloway staff and students can return books borrowed from Senate House library. The drop box is located just outside the main entrance at the top of the stairs. There are a few things to note:

  • The box is open 24/7
  • Items deposited will be taken off your account on the same working day
  • Fines money cannot be taken at the Depository, nor can fines disputes be dealt with there
