Getting started

When you become a student at Royal Holloway, you are registered with the Library. However, you may need to come to the helpdesk to activate your account when you first arrive on campus. Your RCS card is also your library card.

Bedford Library is open 24/7. For more on closures and opening times, including those for Founder's Library, see our Opening Hours page.

Loans, reservations & charges


You can borrow up to 25 items for loan periods of 24 hours to 3 weeks.

Laptops are for use in the Library only and can only be borrowed for 6 hours.
