Bedford Library opening 24 hours

Posted on 13/12/2012

Bedford Library is going 24/5 this spring term

This year we are starting our ever-popular 24 hour opening of Bedford Library right after the end of the Christmas vacation. From Monday 7 January the Bedford Library is open 24 hours per day on 5 days per week to help you get the books and journals and study spaces you need for coursework and revision:

Sunday 8.30am through to Friday 9pm

Saturday: 8.30am to 9pm

During the exam period we will extend our opening hours further to 24 hours on 7 days per week to ensure you have maximum access to the Bedford Library for exam revision.

We are pleased to be able to offer this popular service during the spring term as well as the exam period. If you wish to take advantage of the extended opening hours, please bring your College Card to gain entry between 21:00 and 08:00.

If you would like to use Bedford Library late at night or early in the morning, please plan ahead to get the most out of your study and revision time. Above all, please make sure you get sufficient rest and take adequate breaks from studying.

Food and drink: Think about where you can obtain food and drink, as outlets on campus will be closed during the night. Consider bringing some bottled water with you; there’s a water dispenser available in the café on Level 2 for refills. Please do not attempt to bring hot food into the library, as you will be refused entry. Also, please put food wrappers and other rubbish in the available bins, to help us maintain a pleasant study environment.

Travel: Consider how you are going to travel to and from Bedford Library early in the morning and late at night. If you rely on public transport, check bus and train times in advance. Keep your personal safety in mind at all times and especially when travelling at night.
