£4525 raised for the Royal Holloway Rainforest Project

Posted on 11/03/2011

We would like to thank all students and staff who supported the Royal Holloway Rainforest Project by paying Library fines on 9th March - all of which will be donated to the Project. Thanks to the fantastic response from library users we were able to add £4,525.30 to the funds already raised. The aim of the Project is to purchase an area of Ecuadorian rainforest equivalent to the size of Royal Holloway's campus - 135 acres. The sum raised will purchase roughly 90 acres, which, added to funds already raised, means that the Project will secure an area totalling about 165 acres - far in excess of the original aspiration!

If anyone that donated would like to be officially recognised for their contribution please email libraryrep@su.rhul.ac.uk stating how much they paid.
