There will not be a reduction in study spaces during the construction of the new building. In fact, we are putting in a place a number of initiatives to increase study spaces in other areas on campus. These include enhancing the use of existing communal and reception spaces by equipping these areas with a mixture of soft and more formal furnishing, and providing multiple sockets for laptops and tablets.
We also are piloting the re-development of traditional PC lab spaces into more flexible social learning environments. And we are working to designate dedicated spaces for postgraduate research students in cooperation with the SU and Educational Development Centre.
