PhD History student Imogen Dalziel has received an award from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

In a ceremony held on Friday 1 July, Miss Dalziel was one of ten recipients of the award, entitled 'If Not for Those Ten...', awarded to volunteers of the Museum. Miss Dalziel has been proofreading the Museum's English translations of press packs, website articles and the permanent exhibition since 2014. Other award recipients have contributed to the Museum through social media maintenance, conservation, translation and co-ordinating volunteering by school groups.

Commenting on her award, Miss Dalziel said, "I feel incredibly privileged to be able to volunteer with the Auschwitz Museum. The number of visitors to the Museum continues to increase year-on-year, many of them English-speaking, and so I feel it is extremely important for the Museum's English texts to be accurate, coherent and accessible. My thanks go to the staff and volunteers of the Museum who put so much time and effort into keeping such an important cause alive, and also for making the opportunity to volunteer possible."
