The symbol of Yad Vashem within the memorial's grounds
Dr. Simone Gigliotti took part in a symposium on 'Post-War Immigration and its Dilemmas' at Yad Vashem, Israel, on 27 December 2017.
The event took place at The Eli and Diana Zborowski Centre for the Study of the Holocaust and Its Aftermath on the grounds of the memorial site, with support from the Gutwirth Family Fund. Dr. Gigliotti delivered a lecture on '“The Real Places! The Real People! The Real Story!” Writing History with a Camera in Meyer Levin’s The Illegals' and was followed by Marcos Silber (Haifa University) who presented on 'Migrations, Gender and Family: Bottom-Up Perspectives on Migrations and Nation Building in 1950s Poland and Israel'.
