Digitising the Stuarts

Just in time for Guy Fawkes Night, famously commemorating one of the defining events of the era, a major new online resource with contributions from a Royal Holloway historian explores the fascinating world of Stuart Britain.

Professor Justin Champion, from the Department of History, has advised on, and contributed to, a new online resource, Stuarts Online, bringing cutting-edge scholarship on the Stuart period to a wide audience.  The website launches today, 4 November, with a special ‘17th century style’ introductory video narrated by comedian David Mitchell.

The website include twenty illustrated films, two of which feature Professor Champion, exploring the fascinating stories and arresting personalities of British History from 1603 to 1714.  The films are supplemented by lesson plans and other learning resources, making this a valuable resource for teachers and students.
