First year Spain field course a success

Posted on 02/02/2012

110 undergraduates from the Department of Geography have returned from a successful annual residential field course to Andalusia, Spain.

Prof David Gilbert, Head of the Department, said: "Fieldwork is absolutely central to what we do in the department. Our first year trip to Andalusia is a valuable experience for all our new undergraduates as they are able meet all their fellow students, get to know our academics and become part of our community.

"The community we create in the Department of Geography is very important to us and has led to our department being ranked first for student satisfaction out of all Geography departments in the UK."

The Department of Geography at Royal Holloway believe passionately in the value of fieldwork and from September 2012 will be including the first year field trip to Andalusia as part of our package at no extra cost.
