Judith Hawley presents papers to mark the tercentenary of the birth of the innovative novelist, Laurence Sterne

As part of the celebrations for the tercentenary of the birth of the innovative novelist, Laurence Sterne (1713-67), Judith Hawley was asked to present ‘Tristram Shandy, Philosopher’ an invited paper given at events at Sussex University and Kings College London in November 2013.

Professor Hawley also presented 'Eighteenth-Century Clubs and Toasting: or, How to Get Drunk Eighteenth-Century Style', an invited lecture held to accompany an Exhibition concerning The Good Humour Club at Shandy Hall, Coxwold. Delivered at the York Medical Society, 27th September 2013.
