Adam Roberts: Can Science Fiction Turn into Science Fact?

From H G Wells to Arthur C Clarke and the novelists of today, writers of science fiction have tried to imagine a future that is entirely plausible. But how good were the science fiction writers of the past at imagining the future, and are the imaginings of today’s science fiction writers based on a realistic vision of the future? Science fiction writer, academic and critic Adam Roberts comes up with some answers.
