We’re all looking forward to the new academic year after a summer that has seen two members of staff have children. Several members of staff have had their hard work recognised with a professorship and a readership as well as consultation starting on the new Studio Theatre.
Helen Nicholson visited the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda to take part in a symposium on theatre in place of war led by Professor James Thompson, University of Manchester; Chris Megson completed his book on Decades of Modern British Playwriting - the 1970s (Methuen Drama) which is now in press for May 2012 publication; and Dr Bush-Bailey and Prof Bratton took part in the 'Women in Comedy' symposium at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, and the History and Historiography working group at the annual Theatre and Performance Research Association meeting, held over the summer at Kingston.
Royal Holloway Drama alumni were successfully present at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, details of which you can find here.
We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students, and have a number of exciting events planned for the term ahead. We are also delighted to welcome a few new faces to the faculty.
