Faculty initiative grant received

Posted on 27/01/2011

Our congratulations to Jeffery DeMarco (PhD) who has been awarded a faculty initiative grant of £1200 for “Youth Task Force network' Faculty Initiative grant received in conjunction with on-going doctoral research for the creation of a "Youth Task Force" Network in urban London. Whist working with a variety of third sector organizations within the boroughs of London, it is believed that while each organizations mantra & objectives are slightly different, the synergy in intentions is undeniable.  My researchs' main focus is investigating the construct of trust in authoritative adults running these programmes, and the engagement in said programs the youth demonstrate--the hope is that the more positive the trust, the more engagement in the programs and with the adults working on them, the more resilient the youth will be towards delinquent behaviour.  By bringing the different people together from across the city, it is  believed that the contribution to both the prevention & intervention to youth criminality will be extremely beneficial.
