A paper Tom, Anna, Eduardo and Sergio were involved in has just been published in Palaeo3! The paper was written with Professor Junsheng Nie at Lanzhou Univeristy and it compares two different methods of heavy mineral analysis, the traditional method of using a microscope and a newer technique called QEMSCAN. Both methods have consistent patterns and give insight into the provenance of Chinese loess.
The reference for the paper is; Junsheng Nie; Wenbin Peng; Katharina Pfaff; Andreas Moeller; Eduardo Garzanti; Sergio Andò; Thomas Stevens; Anna Bird; Hong Chang; Yougui Song; Shanpin Liu; Shunchuan Ji.2013.
