The School endeavours to help students recognise their own strengths, skills and abilities so that they can make strong applications for their chosen job or training course.
Advice on careers - including CV writing, completing application forms and preparing for an interview - is provided by the School’s teaching staff, as well as by the College Careers Service, which is part of the University of London Careers Advisory Service.
The School also has its own Careers Liaison Tutor, Dr Walter Lucchesi, who along with the School’s Careers Officer, Simon Mantell, organise alumni events every year with invited speakers. The School also host a careers week for science students.
There are internship talks, which are given by Procter and Gamble in the autumn term, and personal tutors to provide careers advice to students throughout their degree. The School’s Student Bio Society also put on careers and networking events, which are supported by the School.
The School maintains strong links with its alumni, who are often able to provide advice, contacts and networking opportunities to current students.
