Egham Rangers (GirlGuides UK) invite you to tea, and to learn all about their new Guiding Challenge Badge.

Inspired the boycotting of the first Boy Scout Rally in 1909, and by historical figures such as Vera Laughton Matthews and Anne Cobden-Sanderson, whose work ties the two movements together, this project explores the shared history between the Suffragettes and GirlGuiding movements.

The project offers Egham GirlGuides access to museums, archives and a series of workshops that will provide historical insight, and explore relevant pertinent issues such as notions of female citizenship and equality.

A ‘Modern Suffragette’ Challenge Badge will be launched at the close of the project, offering 10million Guides in 146 countries worldwide the chance to explore, and be educated and empowered by, their Suffragette history.
