This week, students at Royal Holloway are celebrating with their family and friends as they graduate in a total of 13 summer ceremonies across five days.
More than 1,800 undergraduates and 180 postgraduates will have taken part in degree presentations in the Chapel by the end of the week, with at least 5,200 guests watching the events, which are the highlight of the academic year.
As the stunning Founder’s Building basked in the sunshine, students from the Management, Biological Sciences and Mathematics departments were among those already presented with their graduation certificates.
A trumpet fanfare, played by the Honourable Artillery Company band, is sounded to mark the graduands’ procession from the Windsor Building to Founder’s.
Following the ceremony, the graduates are reunited with their guests in the quads, where they can get their photo taken with friends, pick up their Royal Holloway yearbook, enjoy the brass band and soak up the occasion during a champagne reception.
