Professor Dawn Watling

Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Postgraduate Research)

Dawn joined Royal Holloway in 2005 after completing her DPhil and post-doctoral work at the University of Sussex. She has been School Director PGR (Education) since August 2020 and Interim Dean of the Doctoral School since March 2023. Her research involves disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and collaborative work. She is director of the Social Development Lab and a founding member of the Hub for Interdisciplinary research into Vulnerability to Exploitation (HIVE).

As Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (Postgraduate Research) Dawn will work in close partnership with the Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and the Vice-Deans for Research and Knowledge Exchange, as well as the Professional Services teams in Research and Innovation and related areas, to foster an ambitious and inclusive research culture that takes account of the complex needs of all research-related colleagues and students.
