MMus in Music
With one of the largest postgraduate communities in the UK (typically around 50 research students and 20 Masters students each year), we are one of the country's premier institutions for postgraduate education in Music.
We are the No. 1 university in the UK for music research (Complete University Guide 2022–2025) and No.14 in the world for performing arts (QS World University Rankings 2024). This international reputation is reflected in the exceptionally high quality of our postgraduate provision.
Our taught Masters programme, the MMus in Music, provides preparation for careers in the creative industries or for postgraduate research degrees. It allows you either to specialise in one particular area of advanced musical study such as composition, ethnomusicology, musicology, music & management, screen music or performance, or to choose a more varied set of options.
We offer part-time study and a flexible Continuing Professional Development (CPD) mode of study.
We offer generous scholarships that cover all or part of the tuition fee for outstanding applicants.
