Masters Degrees

The MSc Project Management provides graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to become competent Project Managers, a growing area of importance throughout business, industry and government today. It is taught by Senior Academics and Senior Industry Practitioners, who bring vast experience and consultancy expertise across many industries, leading corporations and governments. The course covers case-studies in IT project management, mega projects in construction, oil and gas, and renewables, as well as managing creative industries projects, such as TV and films. Students develop a deep understanding of, and practical application of, finance & accounting; corporate governance, business ethics, social responsibility and sustainability; leading-edge tools in technology strategy; strategic planning; operations and quality management; training in software on MS Project, Visio, and @Risk in risk management; Students also have the opportunity to obtain the Prince 2 professional qualification.

Graduates of this programme enter a wide-variety of industries, professions, government, where demand for employees with project management skills is high.

The MSc Engineering Management is designed for graduates in science and engineering wishing to extend their knowledge and skillset to enhance their employability. It opens up a range of career pathways in science-technology-engineering-industries and corporations, as well us government and international organisations.

The course covers project management; finance and accounting; technology strategy and R&D portfolio management, operations and quality; as well as corporate governance. business ethics, social responsibility and sustainability; strategic planning; etrepreneurship and commercialisation of new , frontier scientific and engineering technologies and concepts; sustainable power generation; and managing people and organisations. Students develop a deep understanding of major advances in science, technology and engineering, such as advanced materials, nanoscience and nanotechnology, low carbon technologies, and their socio-economic, strategic,  business, financial  and industrial impact.. The course is taught by senior practitioners with experience in science- and engineering industries and corporations, and science and tech start-ups.

Graduates, equipped with the knowledge acquired on this programme can enter several science-and engineering – based sectors and build successful careers in companies, high tech start-ups, government and international organisations and NGOs.

MSc Software Project Management

The MSc Immersive Technology one-year postgraduate degree focuses on sensory presentation engineering aimed at immersive applications, and considers the hardware and software needs of immersive technology in the practical context of digital presentations. Taught jointly with the Department of Media Arts, MA and MSc students will come together during their projects to support each other in immersive storytelling. Please note this course is unavailable for 2022 entry.

We offer an MSc by Research Electronic Engineering and an MPhil/PhD Electronic Engineering in one of our research areas.

We welcome applications from prospective students who wish to work on projects of particular interest to our academics.
