Tell us about your career path since graduation. How did you end up where you are?

I already worked in information security when I started my Masters’ programme at Royal Holloway. After graduating I continued on that path, taking on more responsibility and developing my career further. I’ve worked across Europe and Africa, where I led big IT transformations in the public and private sectors before returning to the UK. I’m currently in a senior management role at BAE Systems, managing a large and complex team delivering sensitive MOD related programmes, whilst also pursuing a doctorate in information security.

What was it about your time at Royal Holloway that has most benefitted your career or influenced your path since graduation?

The people I met while studying at Royal Holloway and the collaboration that followed was critical to my career path and achievements.

What advice would you give to students thinking about a career in your sector?

I would encourage them to focus, build capacity and pursue this career path as it’s very rewarding and comes with great responsibility and where decision making affects the course of organisations and countries.

What's your favourite memory of Royal Holloway?

My favourite memories of Royal Holloway are the projects and assignments where I got to collaborate with great minds and people from various backgrounds to achieve our objectives. I built relationships with colleagues as well as lecturers and still keep in touch with many of them.
