Tell us about your career path since graduation. How did you end up where you are?
I am currently developing my skills as a freelancer by collaborating with creative individuals and businesses. Meanwhile, I identify potential film, television, and media companies that I would be excited to be a part of in the future.
What was it about your time at Royal Holloway that has most benefitted your career or influenced your path since graduation?
Royal Holloway's community-oriented environment gave me the valuable opportunity to collaborate with creative students from different arts departments. They kindly took part in my projects as we all created student films together.
What would you say to potential students considering studying at Royal Holloway? / What advice would you give to students thinking about a career in your sector?
My advice for new students walking into the industry of audiovisual media, film, and television would be not to wait until the next assignment or to graduate in order to start creating your own projects in your free time. The earlier you get used to the practicalities of production, the quicker you can learn from mistakes. Trial and error is essential to start building any portfolio. What's most important is to meet and collaborate with like-minded creatives across different artistic disciplines. There is something quite beautiful about a creative project where everyone shares a common will and vision. Lastly, it is great to consider all advice, but no two people are the same. Therefore, I encourage pursuing your own journey with confidence.
What did you love most about your time at Royal Holloway? / What's your favourite memory of Royal Holloway?
What I loved most about Royal Holloway was its sense of community, as well as the character of students and lecturers I had the privilege of collaborating with and learning from. The access to facilities and equipment in all departments offers students the opportunity to begin developing their craft before entering the professional world. Its iconic Founder's Building, surrounded by nature, creates a unique university experience. My favourite memory was when I graduated, as I had promised my dear grandfather I would.
