Dr. Hirotaka Imada named APS Rising Star

Dr. Hirotaka Imada, a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway. University of London, has been named as a Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science.

This prestigious international designation is presented by the Association for Psychological Science (APS) to outstanding early-career psychologists, whose innovative work has already advanced the field and signals great potential for their continued contributions.

Dr. Imada is one of the two academics from the UK higher education institution to be given the accolade and is amongst 77 early career scholars overall worldwide. 

His research focuses on the psycholgical mechanisms underlying cooperation in intergroup and intergenerational contexts.

Commenting on the awad, Dr. Imada said "It is a real honour for me, particualrly as a scholar from Japan. I am very grateful to my mentors, collaborators, colleagues, and friends and family for their support. My academic journey has been a lot of fun and I am exicited for more fun ahead!"
