Robert Evans is a Visiting Professor of Politics at RHUL. He also leads the Labour Group on Surrey County Council and was from 1994 until 2009, a Labour Member of the European Parliament for London. At this evening event, Robert will take questions and will reminisce about Britain’s membership of the EU and the factors that led to Brexit. |

Martyn Bond: What is Europe For? Federalism and the Europe of Today Martyn Bond’s career included periods as the BBC’s correspondent in Berlin during the Cold War in the 1980s and Head of the European Parliament’s Representation in London in the 1990s. Martyn is the biographer of one of the fathers of European federalism, Count Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi. In his talk, Martyn will offer insights from his career and from his own research into the movement for a federal Europe that began after the end of the First World War. After the talk, questions and answers will follow. This talk is organized for students and staff at Royal Holloway, University of London by the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Cred (Crisis, Recovery and European Democracy). It is co-funded by the European Union.
