Professor David Bellamy OBE (1933-2019)

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Bedford College alumnus and Honorary Fellow, Professor David Bellamy, on 11 December 2019.

After completing his BSc at Chelsea College, David studied for his PhD in Botany at Bedford College, graduating in 1960. A popular broadcaster and writer, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Royal Holloway, University of London in 1994 for 'his contribution to Botany, to the communication of knowledge and excitement about the world around us and his commitment to the conversation of that world.'
