We welcome volunteers to help welcome visitors in the Picture Gallery and undertake collections work and research in the Archives.
We recruit our volunteers in September each academic year. Find us at the Volunteering Fair or search the Volunteering Portal for our opportunities. Occasionally we welcome placement students to the team to work on a variety of projects. Check below for our upcoming opportunities:
Opportunities
Picture Gallery volunteering
Our Picture Gallery volunteers welcome visitors to the Gallery on our Wednesday open days in terms 1 and 2. We recruit volunteers in term 1 each year and operate a waiting list once we reach capacity. Students can apply via the Volunteering Portal.
Archive volunteering
Our archive volunteers undertake key cataloguing work in the archives and undertake research to highlight stories from the archives on our News and Views blog. Students can apply via the Volunteering Portal.
Lunchtime talks programme
Our volunteers are invited to participate in the Lunchtime Talks programme, in which volunteers research and deliver 5-10 minute talks on one painting on Wednesday lunchtimes.
